Mine Hill is a township in Morris County, New Jersey, covering roughly three square miles in the county's central highlands. It is bordered by Dover, Randolph, Roxbury, and Wharton, and sits a short distance from the county seat of Morristown. The township was incorporated in 1923 from portions of Randolph, but its story begins much earlier, with the iron mining that gave the community its name. The area held some of the richest sources of iron ore in the region, and that industrial heritage shaped the community's early growth, drawing miners and their families to the hillside settlement.
