Lincoln Park is a borough of about 10,900 people in the easternmost corner of Morris County, New Jersey, where the county meets Essex and Passaic counties along the Passaic and Pompton rivers. The community's history runs deep: the area was settled as part of the early Hanover and Pequannock townships, was known in the nineteenth century as Beavertown for the beaver in its streams, and was renamed Lincoln Park in 1871 for President Abraham Lincoln. The borough was incorporated in 1922 from portions of Pequannock Township and operates under a small, borough-style form of government.
