Lots & Land in Lincoln Parkugh, NJ
Welcome to Lincoln Park, a compact Morris County borough along the Pompton and Passaic rivers, with a walkable small-town core and a direct NJ Transit rail link toward New York.
Lincoln Park is a borough of about 10,900 people in the easternmost corner of Morris County, New Jersey, where the county meets Essex and Passaic counties along the Passaic and Pompton rivers. The community's history runs deep: the area was settled as part of the early Hanover and Pequannock townships, was known in the nineteenth century as Beavertown for the beaver in its streams, and was renamed Lincoln Park in 1871 for President Abraham Lincoln. The borough was incorporated in 1922 from portions of Pequannock Township and operates under a small, borough-style form of government. The rivers define Lincoln Park's geography and much of its recreation. The Pompton and Passaic rivers converge near Two Bridges at the borough's edge, and the community lake, Centennial Park, Lane's Field, and Aqueduct Park give residents neighborhood-scale outdoor space, including seasonal swimming and kayaking on the lake. Lincoln Park functions as a classic North Jersey bedroom community with a compact, walkable center and a mix of older and newer housing. Its location places it close to the commercial corridors and employment centers of neighboring Wayne and the wider Passaic County area, while U.S. Route 202 and the county road network provide local access. An NJ Transit station on the Montclair-Boonton Line connects the borough to the regional rail network, making a rail commute toward New York a practical option for residents. Education is anchored by the Lincoln Park School District, which serves students through eighth grade, with older students attending Boonton High School through a sending relationship. The borough's small size, riverside setting, and commuter rail access make it an appealing, convenient place for households seeking a Morris County address with a genuinely small-town feel, while remaining minutes from the highways, shopping, and jobs of the surrounding Passaic County suburbs.
